Understanding and managing forest pests is more urgent than ever, and PurPest is at the forefront.

Stelios Kartakis, from Wageningen University and Research, presented the project’s latest findings at the International Pest Risk Research Group (IPRRG) meeting in Kuala Lumpur.

His presentation, “Modelling disease expression of Phytophthora ramorum to estimate potential economic impacts in European forests,” highlights how PurPest is advancing our understanding of the potential economic risks posed by invasive forest pathogens in Europe.

Developed as part of Deliverable 5.2, this research underscores PurPest’s role in providing science-based insights for forest health management and proactive risk reduction across Europe.
