PURPEST Presented at the CARLA360 Health Symposium in Bratislava

In November 2025,  Prof. Pavol Miškovský (Saftra Photonics) represented PURPEST at the CARLA360 Health Symposium, held in Bratislava and focused on career development and innovation in biotechnology and photonics.

At this symposium, Prof. Miškovský presented “Application of nanotechnology-based photonics sensors in environment, agriculture, medicine, and food control.”

The presentation highlighted:

  • the growing importance of real-time sensing in modern analytical applications;
  • advances in nano- and micro-sensor systems for environmental, agricultural, biomedical, and food-quality monitoring;
  • the integration of nanotechnology-based photonics sensors, such as PickMol™, in high-impact fields.

The talk acknowledged and promoted the PURPEST project, illustrating how its research contributes to:

  • the detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) linked to pest activity;
  • field-ready sensing solutions with rapid, accurate outputs;
  • innovations in sustainable pest monitoring and precision agriculture.
