PurPest at the Nordic-Baltic Plant Health Meeting

On August 28^th, Martin Pettersson, from NIBIO, participated as a speaker at the Nordic-Baltic Plant Health Meeting. The presentation, titled "PurPest: Towards a Pest Sensor for Reliable and Fast Plant Inspection", gave an overview of the PurPest project. It addressed the challenges faced by plant health inspectors in identifying disease-causing organisms on imported plant material. It also outlined our vision and objectives in developing a sensor-based solution to support and enhance the efficiency of these inspections.

The final part of the presentation was dedicated to engaging the plant health inspectors, the end users of our sensor, through questions on what they need and want in a sensor. This feedback is essential to ensure that the sensor prototype aligns with their practical needs and can be further developed into a functional and widely adopted tool for use at border control points.
