PurPest at Fachtagung Dialog Grün 2025

UNINE ETH Zurich

On June 10, 2025, PurPest research was presented at the “Fachtagung Dialog Grün,” a key Swiss forum on sustainable plant protection organized by the Zurich Basel Plant Science Center under the theme Sustainable Plant Protection (Nachhaltiger Pflanzenschutz). The event took place at ETH Zürich. Two posters from the Université de Neuchâtel highlighted VOC based detection technologies developed within the project. Kathrin Altermatt showcased the use of GC-MS to identify Spodoptera frugiperda infestations in imported sweetcorn through VOCs. Marine Mamin presented portable sensor methods for real time detection of pest damaged maize. Both contributions demonstrate PurPest's progress in developing and testing smart, site specific tools for early pest detection and support broader European and Swiss sustainability goals. Examine their work here.
