Technical Workshop and Field Visit on Maritime Pine Health

On September 2^nd, our partner Centro PINUS cohosted a Technical Workshop and Field Visit focused on the health of maritime pine forests in Alcácer do Sal, Portugal. The event brought together stakeholders from across the pine sector to discuss current challenges and solutions.

Maria L. Inácio and Luis Bonifácio from INIAV contributed as keynote speakers and guided participants through a stand affected by pine wilt disease. During the workshop, they also presented the potential of PurPest as an innovative tool for the early detection of the pinewood nematode (PWN), reinforcing its relevance for sustainable forest management and the prevention of PWN spread.
