PurPest was represented at the German Congress of Plant Protection (Deutsche Pflanzenschutztagung), held from 7–10 October 2025 at the Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany. The event was organized by the Deutsche Phytomedizinische Gesellschaft e.V. (DPG) and the Julius Kühn-Institut (JKI).

In the scientific session “Biotechnical Plant Protection” chaired by Jürgen Gross, Ali Karimi (JKI) presented the talk Herbivory by Halyomorpha halys combined with abiotic stresses alters volatile emissions in host plants.” The study investigates how the brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys) and environmental stresses affect volatile emissions in fruit trees, offering new insights for improved pest detection and monitoring.

The congress brought together more than 200 scientists, featuring over 300 lectures and 200 posters, highlighting the latest research and innovations in sustainable plant protection.
