Adomas Malaiška, the PurPest partner from the innovative company Volatile AI, took part in the online event “Digital Solutions for Smart and Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development,” organized by key national science and research institutions of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The event focused on how digital tools and Horizon Europe funding can drive innovation and sustainability in agriculture and rural areas. During the session, the PurPest project was presented, highlighting how the development of advanced instrumentation and the use of AI algorithms can be employed to swiftly identify plant pests by detecting stress-related volatile organic compounds. The event provided valuable insights and practical advice on project participation and management, benefiting researchers, digital solution providers, and agricultural stakeholders across the Baltic region.
